In this book the reader will find an opening repertoire for Black against 1. e4, based on the Petroff Defence and designed to be used up to the highest level. For many years this opening has served as the main black weapon for chess giants as Vladimir Kramnik and Boris Gelfand.

The Scotch Game is a solid positional opening which has been studied and tested in practice by the strongest chess players in the world in a period of more than two centuries. The book presents a Black repertoire with 1. e4 c5 2 Nf3 Nc6, based on the most aggressive Sveshnikov lines. It also covers The Rossolimo (3 Bb5) and Alapin (3 c3). It's written by GM Atanas Kolev (author of the hugely popular "The Sharpest Sicilian") and young Macedonian GM Trajko Nedev who acted as his sparring partner.

The positions arising in the Moscow variation and the Anti-Moscow variation are in principle so different that I have decided to arrange the material in the two parts of the book in different fashion too. The part of the book, which deals with the analysis of the plans and possibilities in the much calmer Moscow variation can be compared to a thorough guide of the series "street by street".
