The Games of Alekhine is the first collection of all available chess games played by Alexander Alekhine, World Chess Champion from 1927-1935 and 1937-1946. Alekhine was born in Russia on November 1, 1892. The publication of this volume not only celebrates the chess champion's 100th birthday but also fills a void in the literature of chess. For the first time, the complete career of one of the history's greatest players is available to the chess world. The Games of Alekhine contains 1577 complete games (953 tournament games, 214 match games, and 410 informal games) in figurine algebraic notation with 207 diagrams. Included is Alekhine's complete tournament and match record, as well as crosstables of all tournaments in which Alekhine played. The games are presented in chronological order, indexed by the ECO classification system and also alphabetically by opponent's name for easy reference in study.

In the first part of this volume, we have analyzed positions of the four knights system (1.Nf3 c5 2.c4 Nf6 3.Nc3 Nc6 4.g3). It is worth mentioning that starting from the moment our first volume came out of print, the focus of attention in this system has changed radically. The discussion earlier, particularly at a higher level, was centered on the moves 4...d5 and 4...e6, but later 4...g6 began to be played by Black much more often.
