THE CHESSMEN

The House of Staunton is proud to offer the Imperial Collector Series Chess set. This heirloom-quality Chess features a 3.0" King with a 1.5" diameter base. The Chess pieces are hand carved by our master artisans and crafted out of the highest grade woods. The Chess pieces are heavily weighted with gold embossed English Leather base pads under the Kings, luxurious billiard cloth base pads on the other Chess pieces and a beautiful finish. The Collector Series Luxury Chess set has been crafted to replicate the design and proportions of the original Staunton pattern Chessmen, registered by Nathaniel Cooke in March of 1849 and first manufactured by Jaques of London in September 1849. The distinctive feature of this set is the the open-mitered Bishop and original Knight design, which was originally sculpted by the Maestro, Frank A. Camaratta, Jr. With it's downturned head, flowing mane and aggressive facial expression. this is one of the finest Knights ever to grace the 64 square battlefield.

It has been designed to withstand the rigors of practical play while maintaining an elegance which has become the hallmark of a House of Staunton chess set. The design, quality and craftsmanship of this set is UNMATCHED by any set of Chessmen in its price range. Nothing even comes close!

The Chessmen are new and each set consists of 34 Chessmen, including four Queens, a standard that was introduced by The House of Staunton over 10 years ago.

The Chess Set comes with a personalized Certificate of Authenticity and an original manufacturer's plaque indicating the production number, with an adhesive backing that would allow it to be affixed to the underside of a Chess box.

THE CHESSBOARD

The Superior Traditional Chessboard with 2.0" Squares features Rosewood (dark) and Sycamore (light) squares with a mahogany frame. This veneered Chessboard is 1.0" thick, has a satin finish and a beautiful recessed playing surface. .

THE CHESSBOX

The Small Red Burl Chess Box is lined in green velour, divided and features brass quadrant hinges and a large brass clasp and is designed for Chessmen with King height less than 3.5" tall.

Once you open the packaging of a Computer Software or DVD title, it can only be exchanged for a new copy of the same title and only if the original media is defective.
