The Evans is an attempt to destroy Black in gambit fashion straight out of the opening and giants of previous years such as Adolf Andersson and Paul Morphy played lots of brilliancies with it. But the Evans Gambit has stood up to the test of time and in the modern era players such as Garry Kasparov, Hikaru Nakamura or Wei Yi have tried it with success. This DVD will prove that the gambit is still fully playable and a great way to try and blast Black away right from move one.

Winning with the Ruy Lopez 2 - Viktor Bologan
    Steinitz, Anti-Marshall, Open & Co.
    Catalog Code: WIN0345CB

Really, among the open games the only opening with which White can really fight for an advantage in the long term is the Ruy Lopez. But in order to make this serious effort, he has buckle down and learn a whole series of sub-variations. That is what the professionals do, including of course Viktor Bologan, who now reveals the secrets of his own grandmaster repertoire. On his second Ruy Lopez DVD Viktor Bologan shows how things continue after 3...a6 4.Ba4. Black has some possible deviations before we reach the main lines which are dealt with in Part 3. These include the solid Steinitz Defence and the Archangelsk Variation which has again been brought up to date. In the Open Ruy Lopez quite different types of positions are reached - and White need to understand these too. And our author prefers to avoid the Marshall Attack - so he suggests the Anti-Marshall beginning with 8.h3. Video running time: 5 hrs 20 min. System requirements: Pentium-Processor at 300 Mhz or higher, 64 MB RAM, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, DVD drive, mouse, soundcard Return Information for Software & DVDs Computer Software and DVDs can only be returned or exchanged if the product is in its original, sealed packaging and has not been installed or used in any way. A Black Repertoire Against Offbeat Openings - GM Nicholas Pert

Many club players have their favourite pet opening variations which aren’t necessarily main lines. It’s important to know how to handle these variations as your opponent will likely know his systems well. In this DVD I provide a detailed Black repetoire against many of these Offbeat Opening choices. The lines I have covered include Pseudo – Trompowsky (1.d4 d5 2. Bg5), London Systems (1.d4 with an early Bf4), Torre Attack (1. d4 Nf6 2. Nf3 e6 and 3. Bg5), Veresov (1.d4 Nf6 2. Nc3 d5 3. Bg5), Blackmar-Diemer Gambit (1.d4 d5 2. e4), Kings Indian Attack (1.Nf3 2.g3 3. Bg2), 1.b4, 1.b3, 1.f4, 1.g3 and 1.g4.

The Fashionable Caro-Kann - Vol 1 - Main Lines and Side Lines - Vidit Gujrathi
    Catalog Code: WIN0513CB

The Caro Kann is a very tricky opening. Black’s play is based on controlling and fighting for key light squares. I have analyzed the new trends carefully and found some new ideas for Black. The dynamic play based on a strong strategic foundation has always fascinated me, and in these DVDs I have suggested the lines which I personally prefer and employ in practice. Recently at the World Rapid and Blitz Championships at Qatar I used many of them with great success, managing to score important wins over top GMs Vachier Lagrave, Radjabov, Jobava and drawing against Vishy Anand.

The Berlin Wall - Victor Bologan
    Catalog Code: WIN0469CB

The Berlin Wall, also known as the Berlin Defense, is one of the most solid and frequently played openings of the 21st century, and compared to the real Berlin Wall, there’s almost no chance of it falling. The DVD is divided into two parts. In the first section, we look at what happens when White avoids the endgame in the “Anti-Berlin” systems, while the second section deals with the Berlin ending. Add the Berlin Wall into your repertoire and pass the headache of “what to play against it?” to your opponent!

The Triangle Setup - Michal Krasenkow
    A Complete Defense Against 1. d4
    Catalog Code: WIN0440CB

The Semi-Slav defense (1.d4 d5 followed by ...e7-e6 and ...c7-c6) is one of the most popular opening set-ups for Black. Black can follow two entirely different concepts. One includes an early ...Ng8-f6 and leads to a number of popular and deeply analysed systems: the Meran, the Anti-Meran, the Botvinnik, the Moscow, the Anti- Moscow, the Westphalian, etc. The other, in which Black refrains from ...Ng8-f6 at an early stage, is presented by GM Michal Krasenkow on this DVD. Black keeps a choice between two double-edged interesting systems: the Noteboom variation (1.d4 d5 2.c4 e6 3.Nc3 c6 4.Nf3 dxc4) and the Stonewall (...f7-f5) if White plays an early e2-e3. Of course Black’s decision to refrain from an early ...Ng8-f6 gives White other options, the most important being the Slav gambit (1.d4 d5 2.c4 e6 3.Nc3 c6 4.e4 etc.). Therefore Black’s set-up may lead to a whole range of different and interesting positions, which help the black player to broaden his strategic and tactical understanding. This makes the Noteboom/Stonewall opening repertoire a particularly good choice for young, aspiring players.

How to Crack the Berlin Wall with 5. Re1 - Alexei Shirov
    Catalog Code: WIN0503CB

The Berlin Defence which arises after 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 Nf6 4.O-O Nxe4 gives White a hard nut to crack, and the solidity of the line led to its nickname “Berlin Wall”. The mainline 5.d4 in particular leads to positions in which White has had trouble to prove any advantage. On this DVD Latvian top player Alexei Shirov proposes a different approach. He recommends to play 5.Re1 which leads to a symmetrical position that according to Shirov is not boring at all. With a whole range of grandmaster games Shirov shows that White can indeed develop pressure and seize the initiative and that the position is full of subtleties.
