On this DVD Kasimdzhanov presents highly topical openings and shows their current state of theory. From the perspective of a top player he explains why certain openings are played while others more or less vanished from tournament practice. This DVD helps you to remain up-to-date in a number of important and popular openings and provides you with many ideas for your own repertoire.

    Catalog Code: WIN0500CB

But the Evans Gambit has stood up to the test of time and in the modern era players such as Garry Kasparov, Hikaru Nakamura or Wei Yi have tried it with success. This DVD will prove that the gambit is still fully playable and a great way to try and blast Black away right from move one.

Bg5), London Systems (1.d4 with an early Bf4), Torre Attack (1. d4 Nf6 2. Nf3 e6 and 3. Bg5), Veresov (1.d4 Nf6 2. Nc3 d5 3. The Fashionable Caro-Kann - Vol 2 - Advance Variation 3. e5 Bf5 - Vidit Gujrathi
    Catalog Code: WIN0514CB

The Caro Kann is a very tricky opening. Black’s play is based on controlling and fighting for key light squares. I have analyzed the new trends carefully and found some new ideas for Black. The dynamic play based on a strong strategic foundation has always fascinated me, and in these DVDs I have suggested the lines which I personally prefer and employ in practice. Recently at the World Rapid and Blitz Championships at Qatar I used many of them with great success, managing to score important wins over top GMs Vachier Lagrave, Radjabov, Jobava and drawing against Vishy Anand.

WINNING WITH THE RUY LOPEZ - Victor Bologan - VOLUME 1
    Berlin Wall and others
    Catalog Code: WIN0344CB

Really, among the open games the only opening with which White can really fight for an advantage in the long term is the Ruy Lopez. But in order to make this serious effort, he has buckle down and learn a whole series of sub-variations. That is what the professionals do, including of course Viktor Bologan, who now reveals the secrets of his own grandmaster repertoire. In the first part the top Moldovan player deals with systems in which Black avoids the main continuation 3...a6 on his third move. These include exotic lines such as 3...Nd4, 3...Nge7, 3...g6 and 3...Bc5, which should however not be under-estimated. In 3...f5 (the Schliemann Defence) he examines a system which has even found its way into the repertoire of many a top player. But the most important variation starts with 3...Nf6 and in its main move order leads to the Berlin Wall. Nowadays, anyone who plays the Ruy Lopez must know above all what he is going to play against this modern defence. Video running time: 4 hrs 42 min. System requirements: Pentium-Processor at 300 Mhz or higher, 64 MB RAM, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, DVD drive, mouse, soundcard Return Information for Software & DVDs Computer Software and DVDs can only be returned or exchanged if the product is in its original, sealed packaging and has not been installed or used in any way. 1.e4 e5 - An Active Repertoire for Black - Adrian Mikhalchishin
    Catalog Code: WIN0352CB

For young and developing players a very important piece of advice is to study open positions and to understand the value of coordination of the pieces plus the role of the centre. These goals can be achieved just by answering 1.e4 with 1...e5. Some players claim that these positions are not sharp and interesting enough, and they believe that different Sicilians should be one’s choice, but that is not completely correct. The idea of this DVD is to show that 1.e4 e5 can be extremely entertaining and that Black can obtain interesting counterplay in every opening. There are two lines proposed in the Spanish systems plus the most active alternatives against other white choices. Video running time: 6 h 48 min. Even though the Semi-Tarrasch cannot offer a complete repertoire against 1.d4, being conditioned of White’s move order, it is an excellent complement to the Nimzoindian Defence. Moreover, it is a viable way of escaping the strategic pressure in the Exchange Queen’s Gambit while also presenting a reliable weapon against the main Symmetrical English systems
