WINNING WITH THE RUY LOPEZ - Victor Bologan - VOLUME 1
    Berlin Wall and others
    Catalog Code: WIN0344CB

Really, among the open games the only opening with which White can really fight for an advantage in the long term is the Ruy Lopez. But in order to make this serious effort, he has buckle down and learn a whole series of sub-variations. That is what the professionals do, including of course Viktor Bologan, who now reveals the secrets of his own grandmaster repertoire. In the first part the top Moldovan player deals with systems in which Black avoids the main continuation 3...a6 on his third move. These include exotic lines such as 3...Nd4, 3...Nge7, 3...g6 and 3...Bc5, which should however not be under-estimated. In 3...f5 (the Schliemann Defence) he examines a system which has even found its way into the repertoire of many a top player. But the most important variation starts with 3...Nf6 and in its main move order leads to the Berlin Wall. Nowadays, anyone who plays the Ruy Lopez must know above all what he is going to play against this modern defence. Video running time: 4 hrs 42 min. System requirements: Pentium-Processor at 300 Mhz or higher, 64 MB RAM, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, DVD drive, mouse, soundcard Return Information for Software & DVDs Computer Software and DVDs can only be returned or exchanged if the product is in its original, sealed packaging and has not been installed or used in any way. Simple But Powerful - Exchange on d5 in the Slav and Queen's Gambit - Simon Williams
    Catalog Code: WIN0471CB

On this DVD, we will look at a simple-to-learn yet surprisingly effective system that White can play after 1 d4 d5. In all cases White will play 2 c4 - and if given the chance, 3 cxd5! This leads to fixed pawn structures where piece play takes center stage, and in these systems, White’s pieces are always stronger than Black’s! The main ideas and concepts are thoroughly explained by taking a detailed look at how the best players in the world handle this system.

Fighting Against the Caro-Kann with the Advance Variation - Victor Bologan
    A Repertoire for White
    Catalog Code: WIN0424CB

The Caro-Kann Defence is one of the most solid replies for Black after 1.e4. I’ve played it myself for many years with black, so I know how difficult is to gain an advantage with white. My choice of the Advance Variation for White is because of the complex strategical play in which White has a long-term space advantage. - Victor Bologan

Solid and Safe Against the Wild Indians - Play the Fianchetto - Nicholas Pert
    Catalog Code: WIN0447CB

The King’s Indian and Grunfeld are notoriously tricky and theoretical openings. The Fianchetto variation avoids the main lines which Black players enjoy, and goes for a small but safe edge. Many people fear playing against the King’s Indian because of Black’s ability to attack the White King, but in the Fianchetto variation it is very hard for Black to generate any attacking chances, instead play is often positional, with White having slightly more space for his or her pieces. In this DVD, the author has gone a long way to finding the best lines for White to gain an advantage against Black’s various responses.

    A Dynamic Weapon Against the Queen's Gambit Decline - 5. bf4 - Simon Williams
    Catalog Code: WIN0456CB

This DVD concentrates on the increasingly popular 5.Bf4 variation of the Queen’s Gambit Declined and gives White a dynamic and aggressive weapon against Black’s set-up. White puts his bishop on f4 to avoid the exchanges that often occur after 5.Bg5 and as early as possible wants to put pressure on Black. At the highest level the variation with 5.Bf4 has become much more popular than the more traditional 5.Bg5 line. Top players such as Alexei Shirov, Vladimir Kramnik, Levon Aronian, Wesley So and Anish Giri play it, and Vishy Anand used it in his only victory over Carlsen in the 2014 World Chess Championship. This DVD recommends dynamic lines for White against all set-ups by Black and gives you a good, aggressive, and reliable weapon against the Queen’s Gambit Declined.
