Popular Chess Terms
This book makes a fairly thorough study of those endings most likely to occur in play, especially those with rooks. This book is best worked through as a course of study, so that the underlying ideas are absorbed and a sound positional judgment is acquired it is at first not necessary to understand every nuance, far less to try to remember the more difficult variations; indeed one might pass over the sub-variations at first reading.
A Guide To Chess Endings

My Best Games of Chess - 1924 -1937
The First Collection of Celebrated Tournament Games Played by Bobby Fischer
This is the only book ever written entirely by Bobby Fischer. It is not to be confused with other books with similar names that were written by other authors. Here is the blurb on the original dust jacket, as published in 1959: THERE ARE 34 games in this book.
Bobby Fischer's Games of Chess
This is a book in Descriptive Chess Notation of great importance not only because of the question it addresses, but because of who asks and then answers that question. Dr. Max Euwe, who was world chess champion from 1935 to 1937, compares and contrasts Bobby Fischer with the three greatest players before him, world champions Lasker, Capablanca and Alekhine.
Bobby Fischer - The Greatest?
This is the book that every chess master and grandmaster has read and studied, and every aspiring chess master should be reading. The author, a World Chess Champion, clearly explains the most complex and difficult concepts. Grandmaster Reuben Fine wrote that Alekhine's collection of best games was one of the three most beautiful that he knew.

The World Chess Championship
As a massive work of reference to Fischer's chess science and technique, and as a tribute to the delights of Fischer's aesthetic prowess, this book can hardly be excelled. Meticulously documented, indexed and copiously illustrated. New Statesman Bobby Fischer became the youngest U.S. champion at the age of fourteen and later went on to defeat Boris Spassky in a titanic match for the world championship at Reykjavik in 1972, becoming the highest rated player of all time.
The Complete Games of Bobby Fischer
This is a reprint of the original third book, with all of the games converted into Algebraic Figurine PGN Notation with diagrams in the back. Alekhine died in 1946, so this third volume was edited by International Master and British Chess Champion Conel Hugh O'Donel Alexander, based in part on the notes left by Alekhine to some of the games.

And Other Stories
The Bobby Fischer I knew and other stories is hailed as an instant classic. This Damon-Runyan like work will be around well into the 21st Century. To inform future generations about such greats as Bobby Fischer and World Champion Garry Kasparov as well as the ''Guys and Dolls'' of the New York Chess scene during the fabled Golden Era of the 1930s and 1940s. In the introduction, five time U.S. Chess Champion writes that the authors capture ''some of the most raucous and colorful figures in 20th century chess'' with a ''Dickensian precision''.

Botvinnik One Hundred Selected Games is a direct translation in Descriptive Notation of a book in Russian published in Leningrad in 1949. Unlike most other cases where the translator takes some liberties, we have not been able to find any differences in the text between this translation and the original in Russian. Mikhail Moiseyevich Botvinnik was born on August 17, 1911. In 1931 at the age of 20 he won his first of six Soviet championships. He won the World Chess Championship in 1948 and held the title with two breaks until 1963. This book covers the most important period of his career from the time he played in his first serious chess event until just before his winning the World Chess Championship in 1948.

The 1958 Interzonal Chess Tournament in Portoroz was one of the most important and strongest tournaments in chess history, and is still regularly discussed in chess circles today. This is the tournament where the 15-year-old Bobby Fischer earned the grandmaster title and first became a contender for the World Chess Championship. It is also the tournament where Mikhail Tal finally got his first chance to compete in a grandmaster tournament outside of the Soviet Union, and started one of the longest non-losing streaks in chess history on his march to the World Chess Championship.
