    CLEARANCE - Vienna 1922
    Catalog Code: B0033RE

The First - and Sadly the Last - Book by Larry Evans, Vienna 1922 is remembered as one of the first great tournaments after World War I. All the stars of the day (Alekhine, Bogoljubow, Grunfeld, Maroczy, Reti, Spielmann, Tarrasch and Tartakover) played except Capablanca and Lasker, but it was Akiba Rubinstein who was to turn in an outstanding success scoring an undefeated 11 1/2 from 14 to finish a point and half ahead of second place Tartakover and two and a half points ahead of Alekhine.

    Reinfeld on the Endgame
    21st Century Edition
    Catalog Code: B0103RE

Reinfeld on the Endgame is a very fine specialty book about several aspects of endgames. It concentrates on a very difficult, too-often glossed over aspect of the transition between the middlegame and the endgame. Each section is introduced with pithy explanations, and each example is shown and then summarized. It all begins with transitions into a favorable endgame, dividing the topic into material or positional advantages. This skill is often known as winning technique, and a good explanation of how it is done is invaluable. Here we get that explanation by one of the most prolific chess writers of the twentieth century.

    Middlegames
    Catalog Code: B0011TH

Roman Edouard launches a brand new series of exercise books. In his first volume, he focuses on middlegames. Romain has carefully selected 496 positions, which arose in real games in the recent past. To obtain the best possible training result out of each position, he has separated the exercises into 11 different categories, covering both tactics and strategy, attack and defence. A Modern Strategy Guide
    Catalog Code: B0036EV

There is a blank spot in the huge world of chess literature: systematically presented middle- game. Therefore authors, both long-term chess trainers, decided to fi ll this vacuum. With a series of books about the middle-game, we would like to present different topics of chess tactics and strategy in a slightly different way. Books, which will be published in the coming years as part of the series, are planned to cover all frequently discussed themes, as well as many others topics — those about which chess players and also trainers usually do not think as deeply as they should in order to achieve better results.
