Big Book of Chess CombinationsA Chessworks Publication
Description / Big Book of Chess Combinations
The reader is encouraged to make notes in the spaces provided in the back and then to come back over time and review the notes to see whether or not the solution he found is correct. The combinations are presented in chronological order rather than grouped by theme so that the reader faces the same sort of task that he does in actual play. Sometimes the solution is not to win but to save the draw. The reader is not told which. Readers can measure their skill by comparing their results with the computer program. The results prompted the author to include a fascinating examination of computer vs. human problem solving capability.
