The House of Staunton is proud to offer the Bedford Series Chess set. Designed by the Maestro, this full tournament-sized Chess set features a 3.75" King with a 1.6" diameter base. The Chess pieces are hand carved by our master artisans and crafted out of the highest grade woods. The Chess pieces are heavily weighted with luxurious billiard cloth base pads and a beautiful finish.

It's design was inspired by many of the Maestro's favorite, yet unusual antique Chess sets. While such features as the flower-like Bishop mitre and the spherical King head are a bit unusual by today's standards, that wasn't always the case. Crafted in Spain, The House of Staunton Standard Traditional Olivewood / Bird's Eye Maple Wooden Chess board features Olivewood (dark) and Bird's Eye Maple (light) squares with an Olivewood frame. This veneered chess board is 0.5" thick, has a satin finish and a beautiful molded edge.

The House of Staunton Classic Traditional Wenge / Maple wooden Chess Board features Wenge (dark) and Maple (light) squares with a Wenge frame. This veneered Chess Board is 0.5" thick, features a delimiter separating the frame and the squares and has a satin finish.

The Large Mahogany Premium Chess Box is the largest Chess Box available anywhere! It was designed specifically for Chessmen with a King Height of 6.0" or greater and is ideal for large figurine Chess sets such as the Gods of Mythology. it features two large compartments that are lined in green billiard cloth and features brass quadrant hinges and a lock & key. The Large Mahogany Premium Chess Box comes with the House of Staunton logo.
