Awsome book and new insights into the history of the Cold War

This is really chess history at its best! You might think this book is pretty dull since it's about a chess organizer's life (and FIDE president Folke Rogard is merely a name for me and many others), but it's actually kind of exciting. There are great stories here about players such as Bohatyrchuk, the Swedish musceteers Stoltz, Stahlberg and Lundin f.e. After reading it you get a good understanding how organizing chess was intimately linked to the Cold War. The Cold War significantly influenced chess, while chess also played a role in shaping the cultural Cold War to some degree. Kudos to the auther for the work effort!
