Signature Contemporary V Luxury Chess board - MACASSAR EBONY / BIRD'S EYE MAPLE - 2.5" Squares

Ebony Chess Boards can be a little overwhelming. I have an Gloss Black chess board I bought from here that is very nice but it can at times look threatening, almost sinister, like Batman in a dark alley. THIS board on the other hand portrays Ebony in a lighter style thanks largely to the wide Bird's Eye Maple Delimiter around the edge between the playing surface and the Macassar Ebony frame. It comes off looking very elegant, classy, and the dark squares really stand out.

This board is solidly constructed and I like the sound the chessmen make on it as you move them around- like the shutting sound of an expensive car's door.

I usually put Blood Rosewood or Ebony Chessmen on this board and both look like they are happy here. I highly recommend this Chess Board to all of you, especially if you are looking for something different in a darker board.
